Dear Mrs Rauf-Vater
I want to thank you for the visit at your stable. I did learn a lot, and loved your way of training horses.
I wish you all the best, and hopefully we will see again at some point.

My experience in Fintel
I have been staying here in Fintel since June 2015- as a volunteer before starting to study in September 2015.
The learning opportunities here are simply amazing. I have been trying to write down everything I have learnt so far and find it an almost impossible task because I just learn so much. Mrs Rauf-Vater gives freely of her time and is careful to dedicate time to train each individual both on and off the horse.
Due to the AUTHENTICALS system Mrs Rauf-Vater has developed, the training is incredibly logical but very thorough and runs deeper than simply sitting on a horse. Through learning on the horse to think first and then act, as well as improving my ability to lead effectively and to stay concentrated, I have been able to develop not only as a rider and horsewoman but also as an individual.
The greatest gift we receive in Fintel is the opportunity to train and work with the horses here. I have never come across such a calm and polite group of competition horses that are each allowed to develop their own personalities and think for themselves (traits, which I believe are due to the AUTHENTICALS system). It is a very rare thing that someone allows their top competition horses to be used to train both students and clients. These horses literally go from training tempi changes and pirouettes one day, to teaching me to sit straight in the saddle the next.
From the AUTHENTICALS- horses themselves, I have learnt the most. They act as my mirror and react instantly to any faults I make in the saddle or during handwork. I do not mean react in a negative way but they simply highlight where I go wrong. For example, if I unintentionally block with my seat, the horses are trained with such refinement and are so attentive that they will stop. I do not believe it is possible for humans to show patience in such abundance as a horse does and so I could not wish for better trainers. One of the greatest things I have learnt here is that if you simply listen to what your horse is telling you, you cannot help but improve.
I truly believe that with an opportunity like this one, you get out what you put in. You are expected to be able to work efficiently, professionally and be able to think for yourself. However, in return, the learning opportunities are endless. Mrs Rauf-Vater is careful to allow us enough time to relax so that it is possible to stay concentrated when working. In my short stay here so far, I have been fortunate enough to visit Verden to watch the young horse championships as well as visit Hamburg.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am sure that I will continue to do so. I cannot thank Mrs Rauf-Vater and her team enough for the opportunities I have received here.
